Dreaming of China

kinesisk

It has been a dark and snowy November afternoon today and on such days you need something to keep you going. Of course there’s always knitting and I’m well on my way to start knitting the fun part of the yoke on my cardigan but yesterday my friend from Shanghai lend me a beginner’s book of Chinese and it just kept calling me to practice some Chinese characters.

I’m not really doing it systematically, I just want to have fun and get a feel for the construction of the characters as long as I’m still learning how to speak. Ever since I found ChinesePod I’ve been studying Chinese seriously and I try to do it every day. Usually it’ll only be 15 or 20 minutes but it’s enough to keep me going and I’m getting more and more excited about it. I can feel my feet getting itchy again but I’ve promised myself that this time around I’m not going to pack any suitcases before I’ve finished my thesis. For the time being I can only watch the daily video clip from the Shanghai Show and dream about being there myself.

  1. tror faktisk jeg har en lidt sjov stikke bog på kinesisk, fingerstrik godt nok, finder den frem fra kælderen en dag, så må du translate lidt for mig. :)
